Road safety feature on the BBC News website
Wednesday, 7 December 2011
There is an interesting feature on road safety on the BBC News website, including an interactive map detailing every death on every road in Great Britain between 1999-2010
You can zoom in to a section of road that you use regularly and look for patterns such as age, vehicle type, time of day and so on. If nothing else it's useful to know which bits of road carry the greatest risk and adjust your driving accordingly.
Other features include time lapse animations showing collisions as individual points of light, a breakdown of collision statistics and an article asking "How close are we to a crash-proof car?" which includes comments from the IAM's chief examiner Peter Rodger.
